Mk5 gti Stereo upgrade. Do I need to mess with can bus ?

Hi guys, New here just brought a 56 plate gti. I'm looking at sqapping out the old headunit to a JVC touchscreen from my old car, I know I need to buy a facia and a connects2  box to pair up the steering wheel controls, but my question is will swapping to this headunit cause battery drain issues that require canbus modifications or is that just a problem with the rcd units? I'm sorry if this has been posted before but unfortunately the search button wouldn't load anything.
