Super high mileage mk5 gti’s

Hi guys, i have recently purchased a super high milage mk5 gti potentially the highest milage in the uk, and id be very interested to see if anyone has one with higher mileage, and maybe the old owner is in this group and could shed some light as to why they sold it and whether or not its mapped as it came with very limited history i have only got odd bits and bats of paperwork.

What's the mileage then? There are quite a few high milers kicking about. Mine's on 166K, all original hardware apart from the gearbox and clutch. A local lad has an ED30 on 210K miles, again, all original apart from the clutch.

Surely if someone didnt love it then it wouldnt of hit 280k miles but then I question how someone could loose all the paperwork but i guess its easily done sometimes

Currently an 05 gti on Autotrader with 237k (miles).
