OBDeleven boost gauge?
« on: April 04, 2022, 04:01:45 pm »
I've heard the OBDeleven app can tell you the cars boost pressure? Can anyone point me in the right direction to find it. I've been looking in the channels in the engine section.. but can't figure out what it all means

Thanks!

There is a "Guages" section. If you tap the menu icon and go to Garage, then your golf and hit Guages. I've never used it but seen it there, that would be my guess.

If you go into live data group 115 is boost pressure on these.

Not tried the gauges bit.

Thanks again lads, found it in the live data for the engine on channel 115!

My idle readings are 300mbar for specified value and 970mbar for actual value, is that ok?

What should the values be when under load?

Yes that's normal. Ignore the requested values at idle as the MAP sensor is in the boost pipe, so does not read vacuum.

As for what the readings should be, depends if it's standard or not, or if it's an Edition 30 or GTI.

Whatever the readings are in boost, deduct 1000mbar.  If you see an actual of say, 2250mbar, the real boost pressure is 1250mbar, or 1.25 bar.

Thanks Pudding!

Just need to get some motorways runs in soon to test it, but pretty sure I may have a small boost leak somewhere...
