Mk6 heater Controls in a Mk5 gti Edition 30 not working

Hi guys,

i have fitted mk6 heater control unit into my eddy when ever i press AC it seems to turn off and it doesn't remember which temps i've left it at. I searched to forums trying to find an answer but couldn't get anywhere.. I thought it was a straight swap.

Is there anything else i need to change ?

any help appreciated !
