As a former rgv250 owner, I remember the happy times when I spent more on oil than petrol.

Just seen Rich's pic. He beat me by 2p!

I wonder if we'll all get a £400 petrol rebate in October?  The government had to step in to curtail ridiculous heating bills, so why not petrol as well? Some folk rely on cars for work.

Working from home for everyone but 'hands on' people is the magic bullet the world is so reluctant to embrace.  It all smells a bit of OPEC & Government seeing it coming and using this as a last opportunity to cash grab as much as possible.  They're literally forcing it by pricing people out of their cars.

I put £20 in on Tuesday at £1.89 at the Esso garage on the Elstree roundabout on the A41. Only drive about 15 miles before filling up on Friday at Costco at £1.68 per litre. Drove to Bournemouth yesterday and didn't go faster that 70mp and with some slowing down for congestion on the M25 and A34 and stopping  couple of times taking about two and a quarter hours an the trip computer showing 41mpg.

On the way back, no stopping at all at roundabouts or traffic lights, just a clear run and averages 43mpg with again not doing more than 70mph. Clearly it's not 100% accurate and I could probably take off 5-10% to take into account a range of factors and used just about half a tank.  Happy 'ish as such a boring drive I found it more tiring than driving quicker.  That and no aircon on a warm day is a recipe to doze off at the wheel...

I find it less stressful driving slowly.  It seems a lot of people where I live are slowing down to save fuel, so I just sit behind them now instead of boosting it all the time

MPG 1 and 2 are pretty close to working it out at the tank, but the live mpg reading is utter nonsense.

I find the motorways are much quieter over the weekend the last couple of months and those using them are driving slower.
