Boot not opening

Any ideas guys

Went to open my boot via the VW badge on my MK5 and nothing and nothing happens with the key either.

When I try to activate the back wiper it doesn’t move but the water spray does.

It’s been cold lately but have tried when it’s been a bit warmer but no luck??

The wires in the loom are broken near the hinge (left side)

Common issue and will require you to fix the loom.

The boot can be opened manually from inside the car via access hole

As said already, it's the loom that goes through on the passenger side. You'll find your heated windscreen won't work either.
