ABS fault (01130) and module replacement

(1/1)

Nertballs:
Hi all,

So I've gotten the 01130 fault code and accompanying christmas tree dash board. I checked all the fuses (all okay) so I'm going to have to change the pump/module.

My car (mk5 GT TDI 140 DSG) has the 1K0 614 517 BE pump, and I've been tearing my hair out trying to find a replacement that isn't crazy money. Are there any other versions that will drop in? I have VCDS so can do the coding side, just making sure I'm getting the right pump is the main concern.

Thanks in advance!

It's definately not the wheel speed sensors?

Nertballs:
No codes were coming up for a specific wheel sensor, just 01130, then 008 - plausibility fault.

I've managed to get a hold of an almost identical pump/module:

1K0 614 517 BG

Anyone know if there's any different wiring connections I should be aware of? I've looked up but can't find any details. I know I'll need to do the long coding but just wondering if there's anything else to keep an eye out for.

Nertballs:
Just an update to this in case anyone is chasing down a replacement pump, I fitted the BG pump today and got it working fine.

Straight swap on the units themselves, no issues with connectors. I had copied my coding from my previous pump before removal. When I connected to the new pump I was getting the DTC "Incorrect Control Module", so I went into the long coding section, turned off hill hold (new pump didn't have it) and cleared the code, all good.

After the coding I did all the required adaptions, and did the vagcom brake bleed. The dash lights don't go off until you drive the car, so got that done and I now have ABS again after 4 months! Just need to get through the NCT now.

Would've liked to keep Hill Hold, but was struggling to get the right pump so a working replacement unit in for 100 quid and I'm happy enough.
