Any Smaller battery options (oe not "racing", motorbike, or li ion)?

Hi guys,

Without going too deep into why, i would like to make a bit more space in the engine bay by fitting a smaller battery.

I would also like to keep OEM reliability, and lack of maintanence, so no trickle charging, or worrying about flat batteries in the winters, which get cold here (-20 -30).

I know this sounds a bit like wanting my cake and eating ut too, but before this i had an e46, and a popular mod for thise was to fit a mini cooper battery. Which saved 5-10 kg iirc and were smaller, along with having oe reliability..

So has anyone investigated off the shelf / oe options for smaller batteries like that?
