Twice! Now that's unlucky.

By the whole mechanism you mean just the linkage or the linkage with motor included? Would really prefer not to buy the whole lot as the motor costs a chunk.

The linkage separately will suffice. No need to buy a new motor. The trick to not snapping them is to make sure the wiper arm is flat against the mechanism when you're tightening it down, keep it pressed down the whole time and be careful with the torque you're using as the studs seem pretty weak.

Got a bit ripped off, as the scrap yard guy didn't want to sell me the linkage without the motor. So paid €50 for it.

But replaced the whole thing, motor included, took an hour. And another half an hour trying to get it right, as the wiper kept on going past the window

Once I put it on right I drew a witness mark on the nut to make sure it's not coming undone again.

Thanks @Sebas_theFish for the advice about holding the wiper arm flat, I probably would've ended up snapping it again. And I only torqued it a medium amount with a 4" long ratchet, definitely a lot less torque than last time.

Cheers  :happy2:
