Engine Mounts

I'm looking to replace the engine mounts for my manual Mk5 Golf GTI Edition 30.

I believe these are the VW part numbers:

Right Engine Mount: 1K0 199 262 P (this substituted the part 1K0 199 262 M)
Left Engine Mount: 1K0 199 555 Q
Rear Engine Mount: 1K0 199 855 BJ

I've managed to get a genuine VW rear engine mount, along with a Lemforder left engine mount, but the right engine mount seems to be out of stock absolutely everywhere I look.

This is the Lemforder part number for the Right Engine Mount: 31034 01

Would it be best to just wait for this engine mount to become available again, or should I look for an alternative? Also, if I were to wait, would it be a bad idea to replace the rear and left engine mounts in the meantime while I'm waiting for the right engine mount to come back in stock?

Ive fitted FEBI ones...The ones with vw part numbers stamped on them :happy2:
A full set of bolts will be £70 from TPS
Worth noting the gearbox mount comes in 2 different variants  6 or 7 bolts :happy2:

Try and fit all at once if you can. It will put less strain on the new mounts.

I did I think Lemforder and Febi for the one I couldn’t get. Was a while ago now. I also fitted a Powerflex subframe bushing insert.

smilespergallon:
Thanks both. I've gone for the Febi for the right engine mount. Better than nothing.

Part Number: FEBI BILSTEIN 23020

It's coming to about £200 altogether to replace all of the engine mounts. Bolts make up about 1/3 of that cost. I was going to skimp on the bolts but after reading a few times now that it's best to change the bolts, I couldn't not.

I've also got the Powerflex subframe bushing insert ready. Do you like it?

I'm wondering if it's going to increase the vibration and make the car less enjoyable when idling, or if the original bush is going to be so worn out that it will just bring it back to "normal".

I have the febi engine mounts also. I got mine from Amazon think they were around £40 per side.

Also have the powerflex yellow dogbone insert with the powerflex engine mount void fillers. Vibration is increased at idle but makes such a difference when driving and changing gear.
