Xenon shutter solenoid stuck
« on: November 04, 2023, 11:39:18 pm »
My 2009 GTI Xenon headlamp shutter is stuck.
I've fixed it once before by taking headlamp apart and sanding down the metal plunger that slides in and out of the solenoid, which causes the shutter to flip up and down in front of the light - making it dim or high beam.
This fixed it temporarily, since the real issue is that the solenoid is going bad and it is bulging out inside the cylinder that the metal plunger slides in and out of.
I don't want to buy a whole new light ($200+) when I know what the real issue is just that stupid solenoid.

Anyone know where I can order just that part?
