After some folding mirrrors and just want to know which door modules is needed?

whats the difference with GEN3 and MAX3 modules

can cars with non folding mirrors actually have supporting modules for folding mirrrors?

Hey Marv.

Do a vcds scan of your car and tell us the part number of your current door modules.

GEN is the year wiring your modules are, usually gen 1 and 2 modules are in earlier models and gen 3 in later

MIN / MAX modules are like lowline and highline. You can have a gen1 door module in min which wont support folding so you will need gen1 max to make the mirrors fold.

As i said, first step is to determine are your current door module gen1/2 or 3.

Nice one Raz,

was only able to get the drivers module which is 1k0 959 701 MAX3
without checking the other side can i assume it is a max3 also?

what i wanted to know is can i just get max3 door modules brand new and put it in the car as been hearing some do not work as its dependent on the car year and module year.

anyone able to hel pme out with this as getting an error 31 and no folding.

Has anyone upgraded their can gateway to a 7N0 907 530 AK (VW Touran) or any other mk6 gateway, saw that this could fix some issues with powerfolding mirrors?

Trying to work out if it would have any negatives to the rest of the system. Currently I have a Q gateway for battery drain

Yes with a seat leon module fitted in front.

You can get a version N door module for the front which fold the mirrors , and have the rear doors still locking. and then get SI-R32 to flash the N module to have fold on key.

Only tricky thing you need to find is a N door module which folds. My car came with N modules but they dont allow folding.

Sorry for bring this up.

I has the N door module which dont fold:

Address 42: Door Elect, Driver Labels: None
Part No SW: 1K0 959 701 N HW: 1K0 959 701 N
Component: Tuer-SG 005 0985
Coding: 0000180
Shop #: WSC

I know for sure that the same N module fold mirrors:

Address 42: Door Elect, Driver        Labels: 1K0-959-701-MAX3.lbl
   Part No SW: 1K0 959 701 N    HW: 1K0 959 701 N
   Component: Tuer-SG         005 0971
   Coding: 0000183

My idea is to copy the software from one module to another. Is it possible? Someone did this !?

Does anyone know if the GEN 3 max Q window controllers for the Jetta/ Golf variant or even Passat will work with a golf ? Just trying to find a slightly more cost effective way of retrofitting elec folding mirrors or whether I need to rob a bank to buy some GEN 3 max N ones.
Plus is fitting the Seat/Skoda window controller still the only way to get them to fold with the fob or has someone figured out how to alter firmware etc on the VW ones ? Just don't fancy having to go down the door skin off route to fit a bump stop if possible. :happy2:

I installed a pair of electrically folding Golf mk5 mirrors.  The number of control units is 1K0959701Q (793M) and 1K0959702Q (792M).  These are from a Passat B6.  Unfortunately, not everything works perfectly.  The mirrors fold, but the windows do not run automatically up, when they go down to their end position.

Fault:  00932- Electric window motor, driver side (V147)
 No or incorrect basic setting/adaptation
