Oil Selection! Sorry for question
(1/1)
Victoryourself:
Hi all,
My name is Victor and I am a new member of the forum, I have a 2007 Golf GTI and I have some questions.
As I have mentioned to Pudin, I have had my car for a few months and I am very happy, and I have always been a fan of Mobil 1, but in Spain it is impossible to be serious on any forum.
In the manual of my 2007 GTI BWA, it indicates 502 oils, could I use a 504?
On the other hand, I want to switch to 0w40 or 5w40 but I am not sure about making the change. The car has always used 5w30 and now with 220k it is starting to consume a bit.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of the club and HAPPY NEW YEAR

hi, i'm not too sure if using 504 is the best, maybe someone else can comment on that. but currently i use 5w40 quantum platinum which meets 502/505 spec. a lot of reputable garages and tuning companies recommend it.
i switched from castrol edge 5w30 to this and noticed less consumption.
Victoryourself:
Perfect, I'll keep that in mind, but I'm not sure if it will be easy to bring it to Spain.
I’ll continue with the 502. Let's see if anyone else shares their experience.
Jons1001:
Also use Quantum platinum 5w40 on my mapped mk5 gti.
Victoryourself:
Thank you, Jons
My main question is: can we safely use 504 oil in our Golf MK5 GTI?
