Squeal after cat change
« on: June 19, 2026, 03:27:43 pm »
Hey,

I’ve had the cat changed due to old one rattling. Picked up car today and don’t know if it’s placebo but seems to boost abit better, however it almost seems like it squeals abit now which increases under acceleration.

Anyone any ideas? I don’t like taking the car back if alls okay but on the same point I don’t want to get to an MOT in 9 months and find out I’ve got exhaust blowing or something.

Drive it for a few weeks and then have it checked. If it has exhaust blowby, you'll have clear carbon deposits around the leak.

I had it smoke tested today as the garages its been to think its just uncovered another problem. Culprit is the hose from pcv in the photo, anyone know part number of it? Also its simple enough to detach from the top but has anyone got any experience removing the other end, i cannot get my hands in there.

It’s the taped up one.
