Newbie owner of Ed30...Hi all...but got question!
Woody.Guern:
Hi all,
Been looking at this forum over the last week, since i bought my "nearly new" Edition 30.
Very chuffed with her too, a quality motor, a few factory extras, and gutsy power!
The only thing I need to sort out is bluetooth phone connection...which I havn't got. I have looked at threads on a few forums, all very informative, so much so I am now a bit confused over the options!
I want achieve full access to phone functions of my RNS 510, and full function on the multifunction steering wheel. The two phones i want to pair are a samsung sgh-j700, and Nokia 2680. I am prepared to fit it myself.
I believe the VW "premium" system is not so premium, as it dosn't work with a lot of phones!(rsap?) Read somewhere that Skoda 729 bluetooth is good, and all functions that i want will work ok. Than there is a unit called Fiskon, and Mobridge. So you see my problem!
If someone can give any advice (their own installations maybe) or point me in the direction of topics/threads covering this i would be very grateful. Also where can i buy from.
Thanks in advance, Woody :happy2:

Hello and Welcome :happy2:
For those phones it will be the 729 bluetooth kit you need.
Do you have the highline cluster (i.e. full height display inbetween the clocks) and a multi-function steering wheel?
Woody.Guern:
Hi Stevep,
Thanks for your reply. Yes i have the highline display, and multifunction steering wheel.
Re 729 bluetooth kit, is this fully compatible for what i want? are there any site links for fitting?
Would i have to go to a Skoda dealer to buy, and what sort of retail cost would this be?
Thanks again, Woody
SteveP:
THe version you want is the 729B, this is the only one that works with the highline and the RNS-510 touchscreen.
Try this site for a very good fitting guide - http://www.octavia-vrs.com/technical/bluetooth.html
Have a look on ebay for seller car-systems.pl, he does the 729B kits but they aren't cheap as they are getting difficult to get hold of now
Woody.Guern:
Thanks for your help Stevep, much appreciated.
All the best, Woody.
