You can get Steam for Mac now.
http://store.steampowered.com/browse/mac
The best place to track down games for me is through the apple store
http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/shop_mac/games?mco=MTM3NDgyMTg
But you can usually get them cheaper elsewhere.
Parallels lets you play non-demanding games, for example I use it to play pro-cycling manager.

I have an imac 27" and believe me youll never go back to a PC
easiest way is to use bootcamp and install a copy of windows to play your games, but Macs are at last starting to catch up with game playing

Animal - aint got the new as i heard it was crap. I like playing Kanes wrath and the expansion pack. TBH im crap but its enjoyable.
Would only run windows to play the odd game. Everything else would be on the mac

Welcome to the world of apple. It's addictive. I currently have a 13.3" MacBook pro, iPad 64gb, 500gb time capsule and my wife and I are about to upgrade to the iPhone 4 from the iPhone 3G. We also had an iMac 20" previously, but changed to a laptop. I will be changing the MacBook for a Mac mini server if they refresh them with hdmi output, then will plan to get another iPad at some stage. :)
I don't use mine for gaming, but vmware and parallels are both great if you 'have' to run windows. I set mine up with boot camp once, but just couldn't bear to run windows on my beautiful Mac, so deleted the partition. I have to support windows on a daily basis, so running osx at home is a pleasure and a change.
Enjoy!!! :happy2:
