BMW E46 M3 CSL 169miles unregistered oh yeah...
94Luke:
If I had the money to buy it I wouldn't actually drive it. I think if it is a car of a condition like that one whilst having a good chance of being a 'future classic', I would rather keep it for 10 years then one day pull it out when all that cars that are on sale at the point in time are too big and boring. Some part of me does hope that it does go into a collection and is not thrashed. I could understand you'd want to drive it if it had already done a few K but to me that looks to good to drive - funny thinking I know but each to their own :happy2:

@ 94Luke:
How can any car be "too good to drive"? :stupid:
Okay, I hear what you're saying but think you are missing something!

No I don't disagree with you Robin, it does annoy me sometimes when someone has a car and they never use it, but when it's just that type of car in such good condition I'd rather see it cared for than abused! If it was a 316i then I could understand the argument, but the CSL represented BMW's pinnacle of engineering at that point in time and I'd rather be able to see one in good condition in a decade's time rather than see it wrapped round a tree. Ok you could argue that if it did that then you should use it, but there are plenty of other CSLs being put to good use and it would be nice to see one left in time capsule condition. Trust me, I love driving just as much as you, but to me some cars can become a piece of art, though 99% of them I would rather drive. I don't want you to think I have a screw loose or anything just see where I am coming from :happy2:

I understand what you are now saying, Luke. But why not drive it AND look after it?
I absolutely agree that it would be sacrilege to abuse the car.
