At least then I'll keep unlimited data till the end of my contract. Not that I really need it but it's a bonus.

But got to a bit of maths first. There are so many variables!

Over 18 months on my simplicity deal i'd save half the cost by buying a sim free phone. Did the same with my 3G!  :happy2:

It is a big outlay for a phone but by paying £35-£45 per month on a contract you'll quickly get past £500!

It is a big outlay -  I paid £350 for my 3GS a few months ago and to be honest its been worth it as I have a phone that works, gets email and made my life easier again - the previous samsun Omnia I got so frustrated with I wanted to throw it at the wall daily.

I might buy one now and then in October when the Business contract comes up move to o2 and get another - then sell the Orange one.

Right I'm a bit confused on how these micro sims work.

Currently I am verging on just buying the phone from Apple. However how do I get the micro sim from O2.

I spoke to them and they are saying that Micro-Sims will only be given if you buy the phone from O2. So if I buy a PAYG iPhone from O2 are they going to be able to swap my existing sim & no. to the Micro-Sim.

Or will cutting down my current sim work? ( I have a couple of old sims spare to practice on )

Cutting down your current SIM is pretty simple - http://www.techradar.com/news/computing/apple/how-to-make-your-own-ipad-micro-sim-681020

I don't think that's correct, and it certainly contradicts what is stated on their website. I think regardless of how you obtain the phone they are hardly going to stop you from using their service are they.
