Did you consider the 1.4TSI also?  I bet that would be a nice transplant for something like this or a mk2

Cheers guys, it will certainly be an interesting yet challenging build. I must admit, I am starting to wonder why I haven't seen many other older VW's with this engine in  :laugh:

I did briefly consider that but I wanted something with a little more substance. I have only ever seen the Mk5 GTI engine in a Mk2 and it looked awesome, it packed out very nicely  :grin:. On that basis, it should fit in the Corrado bay.
