RCD510 question

Hi all.

First post and a question for you all.

Fitted an RCD510 today, in place of the frankly awful RCD300 that was in my 2006 GTI when I bought it five weeks ago. The sound is now far superior, but there seems to be a long delay when I switch the unit off. For example, if I'm listening to music from my iPod and then go to switch the RCD510 off, it first goes onto radio mode and I have to physically hold the button down for between 5 and 10 seconds for it to actually shut down. That's surely not right, is it? I'd have thought a quick press on and off should be all that's required.

Any comments much appreciated.
