Hi lads, I've been offered one of those rns replica's for a good price, has any of you's lads got one fitted?? And if so what do you'd think of them?? It's from china and model is TID-7501...

Have any of you' had any problems with this unit?? Faults??

Thanks

The interface from what i remember looks hideous, i would save up for an RNS

aidogti:
Yeah I seen that alright, I think I could live with that..

I read that the touch screen is panasonic and the sat nav system is what Vw use...

Personally I'd steer clear unless it's very cheap (less than £300)

The TID-7501 is one of the newer Chinese units, with the most recent software. The older version (Waywell WD6050 and similar) are not that great IMO - plenty of features but it all feels like it's various different bits of software glued together - because it is! So some screens have different fonts or button styles.
Having said that, a mate of mine has a WD6050 fitted and he raves about it - but I also think he's a bit jealous of the RNS-510  and even he agrees that the RNS-510 sounds better :signLOL:

Video of the TID-7501 interface: http://trockensuppe.com/drive-in/china-rns-mit-wince-6 - note the somewhat glitchy/jerky screen refreshes

One upside of these units is that they are quite easy to hack, and there are a few people doing different interfaces and so on.

Yeah I'm getting it for 250 euro with the reverse camera aswell, I read you can choose the Vw logo and the red buttons to match the golf's buttons. So you can hack in and change the interface?? See I had bought the mfd2 but it was faulty and I liked the look of the dash with the original look and the big screen, I was offered the pioneer unit avic I think it's called for cheep to but I like the oem look..
