The new firmware in beta shows the new bars, but doesn't cure the problem, no news on if it cures the bluetooth handsfree issues

Why would I want to have such a great looking phone and having to stick on a rubber bumper to keep my signal , I like my iPhones to be naked

vRS Carl:
I still have my doubts there will be a recall. Estimates say it will cost Apple $1.5bn to recall whereas it would cost them $118m to give out a free bumper.

iPhone 4: Silent Recall

Customers who have had their iPhones replaced (for various reasons) notice a slight difference in the material of the antennae and report an improvement in reception.

Though this is all anecdotal.

neg:
It may cost the millions to recall but surely they are loosing out on sales if they dont - I bet quite a few now will hold off until a fix is applied.

Ifti:
Apple are holding a press conference tomorrow - it is expected that the reason for the conference is to address the iPhone 4 issues.
Wonder what they will have to say!
