Parrot CK3100

no golf clubs at all:
I'm going to get one of these from amazon, they're about £85 just now. Has anyone fitted it into their gti ? I've got the mfd2 and a couple of questions...

Will it need additional cables or connectors?

How will it get power? Will I have to find a switched feed and work out how to tap into it ?

Will I need my radio security code?

Or should I go just get it fitted?

They seem qiute straightforward to fit. you can get the fitting guide from the parrot website. I have one fitted to my company grand picasso but it has packed in after only 1 month.  :surprised:

Great wee unit when it was working though!!

You need one of these

You can find a switched live either at the cigarette lighter, on the back of the climate controls or in the fuse box.

You normally only need the security code when you put the radio in another car, I've disconnected mine a few times and put it back in, and it never asked me for the code.

It wasn't that difficult if you are a confident doing a bit of DIY, but it wasn't 'plug and play.'

icenutter:
Oh and you might need to swap the positions of the permanent and switched live on that connector above, check the diagram on the back of your head unit.

GLIDN:
you can get the in-line wiring loom for this unit. No cutting required well not quite.

You only need to connect the CAN+ & CAN- wiring from the Parrot to the wiring loom.

Simply unplug from behind the radio. Plug the additional loom into the radio and then the original loom into the new loom. Run your microphone and you are just about done.

This process from beginning to end should take at worst case 30 minutes. Then you just need to program the unit. If you bought the steering wheel control module. Then it's all hidden and use your MFSW to answer or start phone calls.

Really easy overall.

the hardest part will be to program your voice control with numbers via the parrot.

Hope this helps.
