Too right, Rob!

A friend of mine's daughter is getting married this weekend to a strict Catholic. Nothing wrong in that, but.. She has to actually sign a formal document promising to bring up their children in the Catholic faith. That makes me quite angry! I believe that individuals should be free to choose their religious beliefs.

vRS Carl:
I don't have any problem with any religion,race,colour etc.

What i do have a problem with is people trying to "force" their beliefs on to other people. As you say Robin it should be the individual who chooses what faith etc to follow.

Like me i don't believe in god full stop (seen too much to ever believe that anything like that exists) but i don't try and force my belief on to others.

It is amazing how many crime & terrorist organisations are actually based in Pakistan though. It also amazes me that we can find them but the ISI cant  :confused:

If you look at the Wikileaks documentation half of it alleges that ISI is supporting them anyway.

There's a lot of complexity going on in the Middle East/Subcontinent region, most of it unreported (Naxal/Maoist uprising in east India for instance) but the gist of the matter is:

1) No one likes anyone else very much at all;
2) There's a lot of "the enemy of my enemy is the enemy I will not kill... for now"
3) The US and/or the Russians have supplied arms and equipment to just about everyone in the region at some point or another.

All of the above adds up to the complete clusterf$ck that spans from the Persian Gulf to Burma (which was pretty much the entire area once defined as "British India").

Pissing excellence as usual, Neo  :happy2: - You have a great knowledge about such matters and also an objectivity which I agree with. Your post sums up an overview perfectly and educates me in the process.

The only other way to describe what's going on out there is:   Can.. Of.. Worms (or should it be poisonous serpents?).

It's a bit worrying that most of today's conflicts have a history involving Great Britain! (Israel vs Palestine being yet another example) It irritates me how generally the UK is very two-faced and wants everyone else in the world to think it's actions are so honourable. At least the Americans are upfront about what they do.. Mostly.
