Been reading this thread with interest and although I didn't like the look of the spoiler personally I'm absolutely gutted for you. My Missus wouldn't have needed to say a word as I think I'd have been suicidal!!! Mind you these days I don't have £1k to throw at a car full stop so I guess each case is different.
Hopefully you can get something back from the people that sold the item to you but I guess nobody will be holding their breath. Y
On the lighter side of things, good to hear that you have other plans up your sleeve. Wonder if your mate could make replicas of the VW Motorsport front spoiler for a sensible price as I reckon you could shift a good few of those.......
