Fiscon and MDI help

Tomorrow im going to attempt to install my Fiscon bluetooth basic plus. In the back of my mind i have a niggle that i read somewhere Fiscon and MDI cant be used together. I have an MDI cable in my glovebox so will i need to disconnect it from my RNS 510. If so, why? Is it as simple as the MDI uses the socket i need to use for the Fiscon.
