The start-line grip levels were appauling! There was oil/debris all over the strip on my run. Half-way down i must have hit some oil or something as the car started squirming for no apparent reason at all.
Good to see some familiar faces, a bit gutted that i didn't see more of you all though :sad1:

How did you get on in the end Chris?

What time did you post chris?

Haha...my time was rather irrelevant...I took it pretty easy and just did it for fun. I merely got it rolling in first and then shifted into second, thought it would be ok to give it the beans as my power delivery is pretty linear but the car was still trying to spin up in second so i had to ease off. Then towards the top of second gear the car was squirming from what i can only assume was some oil or something on the track! Changed early into third and just kept going.
15.something and 99mph terminal......

Disappointing is a real understatement. :booty: :booty: :booty:
I hardly met anyone yesterday. The organisation and the track was terrible.
Got there at 9.45am and joined the queue. Finally got to the start line, and being a total newb to the dragstrip I didn't know how the starting lights worked at all. :ashamed:
When I eventually set off, the wheels just spun, and spun. :ashamed: The fact that I had Brand new tyres on the car probably didn't help either. (they literally had done 30miles before I set off to the pod).
I managed a 14.8 @ 105.9mph and a 14.3 @106.9mph (with a passenger) (didn't get chance OR have enough time to have any more runs with just me in the car).
The fella in that gorgeous Noble, managed a 16.9, and that monster Firebird, did a 27.7 :stupid:
Like I said, the main thing that Pi$$ed me off, was the fact, I didn't get to meet everyone. After all the waiting for the strip to open and my first run, I just pressumed that the queue would go quite quickly. How wrong can you be.
I never really saw the attraction to going down the strip in a straight line for a few seconds, and after my first Pod experience I doubt I will do it again. :indifferent:
I'd rather go round a track. :happy2

But it will take forever for the southern softies to get there!
