**MK5 GOLF GTI FORUM MEET** SANTA POD

<< < (83/85) > >>

Blade:
Just been catching up on your day, seems the track was in a poor state and the que,s were too long. Glad i did n,t come now. Must be really disappointing for everyone concerned as it took a lot of organising. Thinking York will be my first 1/4 mile run next summer as its only 60miles from me.

Sunglasses Ron + RobH what times did you get?

Janner_Sy:
you know that no one got good times, when they arent posted or discussed on here

RobH:
I plan on going to york a few times next year its just over an hour for me. Practise makes perfect and i defo need the practise :rolleye:

 See page 23 of this thread mate..

--- Quote from: Sunglasses Ron on October 24, 2010, 06:29:48 pm ---Well i've just got in myself and i'm shattered.. Had to leave about half 3 as my mate had to get back for a meal. I did try and say my goodbyes to those who I could find (sorry Carlo  :ashamed:).
As for the day, well, er, typical Santa Pod shambolic organisation again  :fighting: Got there at 9:30 and straight in the queue.. Track opened around lunch time and managed a massive total of 3 runs (1 of which was a total balls up  :ashamed:).
The start line was a joke, never known it to be as bad as that for traction and as a result my best 60ft time was a quite shocking 2.52  :ashamed: :chicken:  (ran a 2.2 on my previous 13.1 @ 109mph)..
Run 1

Run 2

So a nice improvement on my terminal speed (previously 109mph) and definately a 12 sec run in there when I get a normal 60ft time again. Just wish I could of got chance to have a couple more runs, but at nearly 2 hours between runs, that clearly wasn't happening..  :fighting:
Would of also been nice to have a chat with the rest of you guys too, instead of fecking queueing all day.. :sad1:

What car were you in mate, Red Ed30?

--- End quote ---

the red ed30 with the loud exhaust?

thats a stage 2 r-tec mapped car, he needs to change his map as its not running anywhere near to its potential.

--- End quote ---

That's right, I was chatting to the chap when we first arrived. DSG car as well and certainly had a loud exhaust.. Didn't see him run though as he was behind me. What did he get Jas?

--- End quote ---

Alex did a 13.7, think he had a 105mph term speed.

Have also found out what happened to my remap, or should we say lack of it. Basically my car has one of the newer anti tune ecu's. I had a AMD map loaded to it, and after a while the ecu somehow can work out that its been tampered with, and then throws a engine and epc light, with a checksum error when you scan the car. The only way to then get rid of the checksum error is to reflash stock software, or for the tuner to have a map with a code that has cracked or bypassed the anti tune features.

Car is going back to AmD wednesday to hopefully get its oomph back  :driver:

I think bens done some respectable times! 12.88 from a stock TTRS on my first ever run in it with a passenger is pretty good aswell. If I got a perfect slingshot launch I reckon the RS would do 12.6s easy if not a 12.5.
