Anyone replaced the oem soundpack amp?

I found an amp under the passenger seat when cleaning the car a while ago, and wondered if the sound quality would be improved if i changed the vw fitted amplifier.
Has anyone done the swap, and what did you use, and was it worth it?

Also is there an equalization menu for me to tweek on the oem sat nav system?

I think changing the speakers would give you better sound quality.
