tyres
« on: February 01, 2009, 03:59:39 pm »
i posted in the newbie section,  i pick up my gti up next week but wil be needing some new front boots for her shortly after. its currently got factory contis on which i am very impressed with. a friend has them on his mk4 golf running about 200bhp also and they seemed very gd. just wondered what ppl run. i saw pradas and things like that very cheap, how ever im swayin towards contis again. i had eagle f1s on my last car and they were shocking, i dont drive my cars hard just have the odd blast but they still only lasted 5 mins. way to soft. so what is everyone using and where are u buyin from? fittin is not a prob i will do that myself.

George

The contis are ok, but i have a spare set with Goodyear assymetrics on and these are alot better, so it would be these or Michelins :-), i have had both and both are very good (goodyears for me are slightly better)

I've got Michelin Pilot Exaltos. VW stock and not one I'd go for again (grips well but would be better). They too come with rim protection.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I have Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's on mine and they are much better than the conti 2's and 3's I've had previously on the ED30.
