Ipod to standard headunit
keano:
Hi chaps, :happy2:
I'm sure its another well asked question, but im unable to find a definitive answer.
I have the sh*t standard headunit in my golf (the one that doesn't play mp3s  ) , and i'm just wondering what options (preferably OEM) i have to install an ipod connection or aux cable to it.
I'm fairly certain my friend ( who has moved away now) had it done in his Tdi.
Thanks in advance,
Nick :chicken:
ps. Doesnt have cd stacker either

Some do. Though I am not sure the ipod is compatable with the RCD300.
I only listen to my ipod when driving, so decided that it would be worth my while buying the RNS510 which I had wanted for a while, and also got the ipod connector for that. Gives full control of it, though did cost £125 on top of the Sat nav setup.
Mandy:
I bought a VW ipod kit (like this one) for my GT TDI which only had the basic RCD300 head unit. It's like a lead that runs from the back of the head unit, into the glove box. So, you plug your ipod is plugged in and kept in the glove box compartment.
You can make up to 5 or 6 playlists (IIRC) on your ipod, which you can then control via the buttons on the head unit.
I thought it was quite good and worked pretty well. :happy2:

Thanks Mandy!
How much did that cost if you dont mind me asking? And where from?
