Can Bus v dedicated wire to fuse board

(1/2) > >>

Gti Jal:
Hi guys I fitted an aftermarket Kenwood unit to my GTI and ran a wire to the fuse board for switched live. Its a PITA as because it kills the power to the head unit as soon as you turn the engine off. Its got a relatively long boot up time.

My sis in laws got and RNS510 in her MK6 and the unit does not turn off unless the key is fully removed.

What happens if I fit a canbus adapter, will I get sound until the key is removed in mine?

mortygttdi:
you need the wire to be in one of the top fuses to get ignition live this will give you power until the key is taken out...

Gti Jal:
Thanks Darren!

I'm assuming you mean the top fuses on fuse panel right hand side of dash?
or are you meaning main fuse panel behind the dash above the accelerator pedal?

mortygttdi:
Sorry yes the interior fuse panel to the side of the steering wheel :happy2:
