RCD 510 in a golf gt 56 plate
daz5182:
Will it go straight in? Will i have the battery drain issue?
Really want ot upgrade the unit but don't want a flat battery and want it to go straight in no issues.
Cheers
Garth:
What is the current spec of your car?
I have an 05 plate and the RCD510 went straight in mine with no battery drain. It may have something to do with the spec of the current audio system as most people are reporting battery drain on these cars with that head unit.
For reference, my car already had the RCD500 with VW soundpack (which might be why I don't get the issue).

it has currently got the 300 in, just the normal cd player! It sounds good i think but looks crap and doesn't even play mp3..... I might just try one and see....
Richn83:
Someone is selling an RNS510 at a very good price, and will include the FW downgrade to pre-battery drain issues might be worth a look as it gives you nav function over the RCD plus other features like a HDD.
daz5182:
yeah cheers for that mate will have a look, if not post me a link pal..... thanks mate
