How sensitive is yours?
(1/1)
Bane:
Your car alarm?
My car sits outside on the street and twice now cars have gone past that have rumbly exhausts and the alarm has gone off.Strange thing is,that trucks, tractors and buses go past regularly and they never seem to set it going.
Went off twice in half an hour one night thanks to a moth flittering around inside!!
Wondered if theres a setting in the MFD or somewhere that can increase/decrease or even deactivate the alarm system?
stealthwolf:
Mine goes off if a heavy truck rushes by.
Richn83:
There is a button on the trim behind the drivers door to alter the alarm, you can turn the internal ultrasonic sensors off or disable the tilt function. You will just need to figure out which you need to disable for the exhausts, is it vibration or sound setting the car off.
stealthwolf:
I think with VCDS you can change the sensitivity of the alarm.

Yes, you actually change the sensativity of the interior monitor - which basically measures air pressure. I've reduced mine to 75%. I had reduced it to 80%, but the alarm would still go off if I left the radio on after filling up and paying for juice.
