Vf engineering intake help, Advice needed....

(1/2) > >>

luckyGti:
Hi,
Is it true that you can not run the 3inch vf engineering intake from a ko4 turbo unless you have a GIAC software, apparently according to my tuner they can not use the revo software with the intake.
Does anybody run a vf intake themselves on their own mk5 Gti?

gillm:
total rubbish , i bet your dealer has his own he would like to sell to you !

luckyGti:
Hi thanks for your help, That is exactly what i thought, but to be clear about the situation.... I the vf intake fitted a few days ago along with an Apr fuel pump, now obviously i haven't changed my current software from the mrc stage 2 map to cope with the additional items.
Since driving the car after fitting at a different tuner power seems to be 50% down. I phoned my original tuner an they explained that i need to refit my original simota intake as its the standard size not the 3 inch. Apparently my tuner spoke to the main guys in the meantime an said if i changed to there software don't run the vf intake.
Is somebody pulling the wool over my eyes somewhere along the line..

gillm:
50% down on power . i reckon its something to do with the pump . was it a built pump or did you add the internals ? mrc are very good , why not take it back to them for a check over ?

bacillus:
iirc the maf cross section area is larger than standard on the vf intake.
Giac is apparently to only tuner to take this into account when producing their map.
