Sounds cool -- I'd certainly be interested in getting all this functionality, the full postcode input alone is a killer feature!

How do I know what version/fireware my RNS is? Not in to all the technical malarky.. Car was registered in April 08 if that helps..

If test mode is enabled then just press and hold setup for about 30 secs

If not you will have to enable it with VCDS :happy2:

Will this work with RNS version C from a Skoda (in my Golf) I am on 2660 firmware.

Put RNS 510 on map/nav > insert V7 disc > confirm loading of new map  :smiley:

What firmware you guys running?  I think I'm on 1100 and after upgrading to new maps I'm getting the maps and speed cameras but no full post code search :sick:

As long as you have a K revision or higher Can Gateway you will be fine.

If not you can get modified firmware which stops the battery drain but not sure how this will work with maps or if it works at all. Those that have tried it apparently it works for them. But I haven't tested it myself.
