ticking noise from dash area

Does anyone have a ticking noise from the drivers dash area? my cars a dsg and it makes a ticking noise (about 5 ticks in sucsession) just after pulling off and whilst driving at say 15mph it seems to do it when slowing down or steadily accelerating?

Where exactly is it coming from? I think there's a well known problem (in the GTI) of the noise emanating from the stereo region.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Behind the spedo/pedal area im 100% sure of that it almost feels like a pulse typr noise.

I'm pretty sure that this is just the climate control system moving the flaps within the air vents to circulate the air. I get this all the time, and I think most on here will agree that they have the same noises!  :smiley:

Have you tried a basic settings reset of the climate control using vcds?
Without traction power is nothing!

yep mine does this, i think it comes from passanger side in mine though?  :confused: not botherd as ive had the car 18 months now and nothing has gone wrong  :smiley:

Had this ticking a while back which seemed to come from behind the glove box. Dealer sorted it out at last service. Replaced under warranty the air recirculation flap motor. Apparently its a very common problem and they said they had done quite a few on MKV's.



I think IIRC the part isn't cheap so would probably suggest if it's still under warranty getting the stealer to check it out ?
