Anyone know how to remove inlet manifold (mk 5 tdi)

On the 105PD 1.9 the inlet is on the back... its the same basic engine as the mk4 lumps... just with different specs and a FMIC

2.0 TDI 140 mk5 version - I'm guessing at metal inlet?
Do you have any tips to get the sludge out?
thanks for the replies

These are really easy to remove. Just a series of allen bolts to remove. All really easy to see apart from one which you need to remove the egr valve to get to.
Scrape as much of the gunk out first, then get some very strong degreasant to get the rest out. Ive soaked them in hot acid baths before, but that still didnt get rid of all the crap.
Best to get a new gasket too.

On the 105 engine, its just more fiddly to get the mani off. Just a few more things in the way.
On both the egr's, when you clean them out dont submerse in cleaner. Scrape all the gunk out and use a rag to clean the rest out.
