This sounds oddly familiar to me... in august I swapped from a 400 bhp 135i to a Porsche Booster S and an Edition 30 for the commute.

I've since modified the Ed30 to Stage 2+ (around 380 bhp)  and I love it. If your anywhere in the north (Sheffield) I will HEARTILY recommend my tuner over any of the popular tuning 'brands' I see around here. I've never been so happy with the buying or aftersales service I received.

Anyway, they run two Edition 30's with hybrid turbos and about 430 bhp.... noting you're not after power, one of the guys also has the PSS10 kit while the other has just a set of lowering springs. Some good comparisons for you.

They also fitted a quaiffe LSD to my car for the previous owner.... I'd recommend that as a night/day level of mod. Just awesome.

My current thinking is

PSS10, nuespeed ARB's, WALK,

Then consider stage 1 chip and perhaps a miltek catback to add a little vocal accompaniment. I figure 300 ish running shell vmax and a sorted chassis will hopefully be adequate.

I'd like bigger brakes and an LSD, I will consider these after I see how acceptable the car is as a fast road everyday car before committing

I want to save for a gen II 997 GT3 and hope I can pick one up next winter as the attraction of a potential new model is on the grapevine and winter is looking long and horrible. Sub £80k for a low miler should be doable, they are nearer list and £90k today.

But I do want to get a hot hatch inwill love as most of my time will be spent in it !
