The downpipe will be a GTI one, then you need to find out what size DP your going to order, and what size the R32 rear is.  then get a connector/reducer to fit them together. they are available on ebay for a pittance

I have very recently done this conversion, and like yourself i didnt want Eddy to sound like a boy racer saxo, so i went for cat-back resonated miltek. There wasnt much difference in sound when it was fitted but its gotten slightly louder(as they do) not loud enough to be classed as a boy/girl racer but enough to put a grin like a cheshire cat on my face every day :-D
