window switches help

My window switches are losing there coating. I know mk4 switches come apart so you can change the plastic, can you do the same with the mk5?

Could I use a mk4 switch as I can't find any mk5 ones on eBay. I'm sure I'm not the only one to have this issue, what have other people done to fix this?

You can't but them in bits that I know of, you need to buy the whole part, They do however come to bits so they could be replaced if the parts were available , not sure what the mk4 ones look like so don't know about that, I would buy new Silver passat switches  :happy2:  and turn into an mod

So buy a set of new Passat ones and swap the plastic covers over?

Edit: nothing on ebay either, anyone know what part I could get from the stealers? I need to replace all 3 switches(3 door).
