Yup, agree Jake! 250bhp will be more than enough right now...
I only fitted the tires 3 days ago. I will be using them for the first time on Sunday (Hungaroring Trackday).

Hello everyone!
I don't have the video/videos yet but I will write the story behind the last track day at Hungaroring while it is still fresh...
As usual, the interested people list was quite big but due to some objective or subjective reasons the group consisted of 4 people and 3 cars.
Along side was a friend driving a Scirocco 2.0 TDI DSG (engine remap, semislicks, big H&R ARB's, BBK) and a friend driving a M235xi (stock).
The Sciroccco was the fastest of the bunch since the M235xi was driven by a non experienced driver having his first track day.

The weather was great. Truly awesome... for sunbathing... 26 degrees at the shade with clear skies :). Not really the ideal weather for turbocharged cars.
The track seemed to be even gripier than it used to be (it was redone last year) and there were even subtle changes to the layout. The chicane seemed to be a bit slower than it used to be.
The car behaved wonderfully except for the engine. Without looking at videos or GPS data I felt that I was significantly slower. I really had a lot of cases where, previously, I changed gears much sooner than I did now.
After I returned home I realized my REVO settings were not the same (Performance A vs Performance B) but I don't know if the software setup or the outside temperature are to blaim.

I got to test the new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and I LOVED them. The sidewalls are definitely not as hard as the Direzza 03G, but the tires are sooooo predictable. I suspect they are slower than the Direzza's but for me perfectibility comes first. On the downside, the car was not as lively and I had no oversteers. I think this is a great setup for Nurburgring but not so great for Hungaroring.
So, I definitely recommend these tires.
The brakes were awesome, as usual. I got a bit lazy and I did not install the cooling brake ducts so after a few laps I started experiencing brake fade. But I had 2 or 3 fast laps followed by a cooling lap. This was also tied with the oil temperature, which got to 138 degrees so I decided not to push to hard.

Unlike most of the other trips, there were some insanely fast cars: a 458 Italia, 991 GTS, 991 Carrera S, Radical - driven very fast.

There are a lot of things going in my personal life (got married a few days ago, building a house, recent job change) and I am really glad I had time to be able to enjoy the car like I used to in the past.

And a few photos (unfortunately the photographer had a memory card issue and most of the photos are lost :( )

Just like after every track day, I am cleaning the rims and putting them in storage waiting for the next track day:







This time, while washing the rims I noticed a screw in one for the tires:





This is the second time I am finding a screw in a tire after the first track day with brand new tires, but, just like with the Dunlop Direzza 03G the tire was not affected (no puncture).



I really don't know what's with this habit of mine of collecting screws  :doh:.
But at least I got off easy.

I've finally had time to look at the last Hungaroring videos and at the raw GPS data...
But, my best 3 laps all had 10-20 seconds loss of GPS data. So, unfortunately I can't edit the videos like I used to  :sad1:

None the less, here is the video of the best lap:



I managed a 2:23.41, nowhere near my previous best (2:21.60)
I suspect the causes were:
- the car was pulling noticeably slower - I had a inferior REVO setting about which I only found out at home and the weather was really warm
- the track had a few mods for last years F1 race - the asphalt seemed to be gripier but the chicane was tighter (thus slower)
- the PS Cup 2 tires were ok but my impression is that they were more predictable but slower than the Dunlop Dirrezza 03 G I previously had.

But, despite the time, I had a lot of fun. Even if I don't have the bhp, the care is mega fun when set up properly.

Hungaroring is a very nice track to safely have fun.
I prefer the Nurburgring for the thrills but it is much more dangerous.

I've just mounted my Dunlop Direzza 03g for my first track day of 2016... !!! (been getting the car ready lol).

Do you recommend any pressures? I have gone 32psi front and back for now.
The pressure is quite different from my setup to my friends setup (especially with heavier cars). I have very low pressure while they have much higher.
I usually have 33psi when hot (immediately after a session) and 25psi when cold.
I would advise you to play with the pressure and see which one suites you best.
