PDTuning

Aaron_RJ:
I have my own part time business specializing in automotive tuning and have been remapping for a while however after a few disputes with my previous mapping company i seeked anew. After a long conversation with Dave @PDTuning. I am now using PDTuning for my map supplies

The previous map I had on my car was overfuelling far to much and even fueling on overrun. Not a great idea for a TFSI or any car.
I carried out some data logging along with Dave checking the map file the boost was cranked up and overfuelling to compensate for the high exhaust temperatures! Using -6,-7 ignition when still fuelling.

After Dave creating me a individual stage 2 map for the modifications to my car and roadtesting along with some datalogging the car is now much smoother and the power is much more progressive than before a top quality map  :happy2:

I went to london and back monday and on the way home with some mixed driving mainly averaging 75-80 mph I achieved a very impressive MPG average

Dave is a very helpful chap who has put a lot of time into helping me with questions I have had a top bloke  :drinking:

Thanks for those kind words Aaron, glad you are happy with the end product, even if it did take a couple of attempts to get it right.

Aarons case is a perfect example of how much better a car can be with the right map, his original map was very very odd, structure was indicative of a diesel tuner trying to map a turbo petrol "exhaust temps are high, lets add lots of fuel to cool things down"  when infact it was the ignition timing being -7 degrees retarded and the boost being 'turned up to 11' that was causing high exhaust gas temps.

Improved MPG is a side effect of optimising low throttle boost and ignition timing making the throttle a lot more responsive, changes in road and traffic conditions on a run require a lot less input on the throttle by the driver which causes the driver to moderate the throttle pedal movement which leads to less wasted fuel that a blunt feeling throttle can cause.

I think some dyno testing and a bit more data logging would be beneficial as well, but the main thing you now have a safe map on the car  :happy2:

How did you manage 39MPG  :surprised:

PDT:
I could get similar on a run from my old K03 GTi with our stage 1 map, admittedly you do need to be pedal concious and read road conditions carefully.

Aaron_RJ:
yeah more logging to do going for a RR session soon just to see what the car is making
