STS-133: Last launch of the Shuttle Discovery
Deedub:
when i was in Florida last May on the last day on the holiday Atlantis went up as i was getting to the airport to go home, you can probably imagine how miffed i was to have to miss it when at the time it was going to be the last flight for Atlantis.
still makes me sad :(
TagnuT:
Brilliant photos and Vids. Loved the NASA one too. :happy2: :happy2:
We visited the Space Centre last summer. Brilliant in a word. The Saturn V hall was just amazing, my son can't get enough of Space stuff since then.

Cheers Tagnut :happy2:
The Saturn V is just something else, absolutely incredible. The entire experience that KSC have created around it is awesome, I loved the firing room simulation.
QD MBE:
I did the KSC tour in '08, and the whole experience is fantastic. Am I right in saying that the Flight shed is the tallest single storey building in the world? Originally built for the Apollo program?
Oh and the wildlife around the area :scared: :scared:
cmdrfire:
The Vehicle Assembly Building? Yep, it's the tallest single storey building in the world, and when it was built it was the largest building by volume (and today is still the fourth largest building by volume).
It could hold four assembled Saturn V/Apollo stacks in there simultaneously :surprised:
Lots of alligators as well :P
Out on the causeway looking across the banana river we saw porpoises and dolphins and all sorts of birds flying around...
