Valuation
« on: February 26, 2009, 01:15:44 pm »

Ford dealer called me today to say they've been give another RS allocation so as things have moved on a bit I'm getting round to considering the sale of my ed30.

I have a value in mind but just want to get a few real world, non biased opinions.

Spec as follows

Red Ed 30  July 07, 16k miles

Full VWSH
Sat Nav
Bluetooth
Ipod Connection
Rear(VW option) Tints

Cars in mint condition apart from scuffing to front nearside alloy.

Im going to sell it privately so private sale estimations please?

The world we live in and life in general.....

Perhaps even as low as £15k?

Have you been brave enough to ask Ford for a part ex. valuation? I'd love know what they'd offer.
Only 250.1bhp - but with that noise, who cares?

people are silly wanting to get rid quick so end up selling silly cheap as 16k for an ed30 is a bargain of a car if you ask me

I had my ED30 for sale for six months before I got rid. I ended knocking 4k off what I originally wanted for it. The arse fell out of the market just after I put it up for sale

It's going to be worth what someone will pay for it mate. Look on pistonheads and get an idea of what to expect.... It's quite frightening, has the dealer offered you something yet?

07GTI's are going for silly, low money at the moment. They seem to be going for 13 to 14k. Allowing for the difference from new between the GTI and the ED30 (£1700) I'd say add that on and you'll not be far off.

£14.7k to £15.7K depending on spec. and condition.

Not what you really want to hear, but unfortunately that is what (IMHO) you'll achieve.

I just bought a 6 month old ED30 with 1200miles for a touch under £18k from an independent dealer.

Could have got an 08 from a VW dealer with more miles for about a grand less but they were giving me a terrible trade in value against the beemer plus they didn't seem to bothered about actually selling the car so I took my business elsewhere
