My new ED30
Lee Quayle:
Hi guys
Just thought I'd let you know that I picked up my ED30 on friday and so far I'm very very pleased. Its a black, 5 door, 2007 with 46k on the clock. I think i grabbed myself a bargain as I picked it up for 12k with 2 year extended service pack and 12 month extended warranty, supaguarded inside and out and in 'as new' condition.
So far its totally standard but my superchips bluefin arrived this morning and planning on a resonated Miltek with induction kit and s3 intercooler to kick things off, and I'm having the Kenwood 7260BT fitted on wednesday.
As I'm a new ED30 owner and have previously owned 2x mk1 GTi's, 2x mk2 GTi's(8 and 16 valvers), Corrado Vr6, mk4 V5(150 and 170bhp) and a mk4 R32, I'm very new also to the world of forced induction so any tips on upgrades etc will be very welcomed.
Before I fit my bluefin I was considering either Revo or Custom Code as the alternatives - any preferences guys?
Cheers
Lee

Welcome along - sounds like plans are affot for an early bout of modding :happy2: With regards to the choice of map, there are plenty of threads on here (just have a quick seach). A lot depends on how far you will be wanting to take the car in the future. Anything over stag2 2 I would be going the Revo route, just my personal opinion.

Thanks Dom
TBH I want to keep the car relatively standard apart from the mods that I mentioned so probably wouldnt want to go above a stage 2. My previous cars' work was carried out at TSR performance ad they use Custom Code.
I suppose the good thing about bluefin is that its able to be reversed within 20 mins.
Celtic tuning do nice sounding package too

Well you pays your money and you take your choice - there will be plenty of people on here that can vouch for both Revo/Bluefin at a Stage 1/2 level of tune. I know that JoesGTI had celtictuning on his, though I would personally be keeping clear of Custom Code. Yes, the nice thing about bluefin is the total transparency with the handset, Shark performance also do something similar too. I think you just need to have a good trawl of existing threads on here and make a value judgement for youself, you will always hear good and bad things about the majority, if not all, products.
