car manufacturers just put on whatever tyres are cheapest at the time. Get some Goodyear assys or vredestein sessantas. They are getting all the best feedback and reviews at the moment.

Goodyear Assymetrics are definitely the way ahead dude :happy2:. Brilliant grip in dry and especially good in the wet. :driver:

I went for conti 3's when replacing my fronts and really like them. IMO the best tyre in the dry apart from semi slicks ie r888s are yokohama parada spec 2's. Had these on a few of my cars and they are awesome in the dry. Slightly less grip in the wet than the conti 3's though.

VW seem to use continental now on new cars, as above i can recommend blackcircles
