lowering
SteveS:
was thinking about lowering the motor... maybe...
whats a good kit.. :fighting2:
DubwayDan:
are you looking at coilies or springs? for springs i'd either go for eibach pro or H&R :happy2:
JPC:
well you can go down the springs route. That will costs you about 300 fitted for eibachs. There not really recommended for anything other than road use. If you will be giving your car some 'stick' you'll probably want to look at a good set of coilovers. Thats goin to cost about 1100 fitted i think for something like kw v1s. These are a great compromise for price quality and looks. You can spend a lot more on v3s but you'll have to be tracking etc to really make use of the extra benefits. I've got eibach sportline springs on my golf at the moment. They are great to be honest, my car will never go on the track so there ideal.

....Obviously it makes fuller use of them on track but you would then want the version with adjustable top-mounts.
I'm extremely happy with my VWR-KW-V3's for fast road use : -

But they do come into play more on a performance modified car.
JPC:
true robin, they can be equally set up for an incredible fast road experience. I just wish i had the disposable funds to afford them. Unfortunately, i don't at the moment. Then i think so myself, diesel golf, kw v3s, are you kidding? Bit overkill wouldn't you say for me? I might convince to indulge in some v1s in time though. What do you think?
