Hi all, I have been directed to here from another VW forum. I don't own a GTI, so I am not sure if I'm welcome here, I am basically after some info on the RCD300 non-mp3 radio and which ones can replace it (as I'd like a mp3 compatible one). Is anyone able to give me advice on this?

Thanks for the quick reply and welcome.

After reading some more, I've found that some of the above listed will need to have the CAN BUS upgraded and computer reset too to avoid the battery drain issue. So which of the above does not require this action? (I've posted in Cosmetic/Interior Modifications section about this too!)

RCD300 and RCD500 will be ok. All the others are generation 2 head units that can suffer from battery drain

Youll need a CAN Gateway with K or higher to avoid the battery drain (I in fact have one for sale)
