Advice needed for clock/dials removal HELP!!!!!!!!!
daboy3000:
My LCD display in the centre of my dials is on it's way out, I have sourced another set of tdi clocks cheap. I would like to replace the whole unit but I believe that some coding would need doing. Is it possible just to replace the LCD screen?
I have searched but I ca't find a guide to removing the unit from the dash, I know many people have upgraded to highline so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
Any help with this would be great.
Cheers

Its easy.
Lower and pull the steering wheel to its furthest point. Remove the trim with the fabric flap by pulling up and out carefully as you can snap the clips.
Then remove the 2 torx screws under the cluster and wiggle out. Once out split the cluster into its 3 parts- cover, dials and lcd screen and back portion with the memory board by unclipping the clips around the cover and removing the 2 torx screws in the back of the cluster.
Do this for both clusters and just swap the new lcd/dial portion with your old back/memory portion and replace the cover. Slide back in and you shouldn't have to do any coding at all.

Ok, did what you said with no probs but as soon as I plugged it back into the car lots of lights are flashing up!!! any ideas?
EDIT:
They are slightly different, so maybe my rear is incompatible with the newer front. The LCD's have different connections.
Put my old one back together and now the LCD isn't working and the steering wheel light and the traction control lights are stuck on!!!
Sometimes I wish I never started!!!

Drive a little...the steering wheel and TCS lights should clear
They have to self test :happy2:
